Media Literacy

Media literacy refers to the ability read and evaluate material that we read and see each day.  We get our information in so many forms today; blogs, webpages, wikis, email, text messages, cell phones, T.V., and radio.  In a world where a photograph really can lie, students must learn to be literate in new ways.  Media literacy means visual literacy, being able to see through the sophisticated targeted advertising on the internet, and learning to think about the messages we recieve in critical and thoughtful ways.  It means understanding on-line safety.   Click here for a list of the required skills.
