Ms. Bryan was born in South Bend, Indiana, and lived in Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan before landing in Nashville at the age of 17. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Peabody and her Masters in Administration and Supervision from Trevecca University.

She has two “wonderful children,” Aaron and Cristin. Most of her free time is spent with family, friends, babysitting, and playing with her two small dogs. Her love of teaching was inspired by her fifth grade teacher. She has been teaching for 32 years , but she says Westmeade is her favorite. When asked why she said it is because of the terrific faculty, staff, and students.

She also finds time to baby sit and knit.

Kathy was chosen as Teacher of the Year this year.  She was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1988 as well.
